Hi im doing a shackle and hanger lift to accommodate my 38s .I want the most flex possible out of my original springs. Can i take out the 3 bottom overloads or reposition the clips/clamps on the springs.Whats the best setup you guys know about.Pls dont say skyjacker etc cause im im darkest africa and the springs cost more than a F250.
For the front im using rear 2 wheel drive springs redrilling centre bolt because they are about 50mm longer and 50mm higher than the fronts. So when i use the drop hanger and longer shackle the shackle angle will be cool. What you think?
The vehicle is 76 250 4x4
Thanks Jared

Open up (remove) the clips on the spring pack. Depending how anal you are about things lining up, you can leave the clips (opened up into a U shape) as guides to ensure the springs stack neatly, or you can remove them entirely. I'm lazy, and don't give a damn how neatly the leaves stack, so I just cut the clips off, and throw the scrap into my junk metal pile.

Personally, I usually just remove the short flat overload spring out of any leaf pack I'm wheeling, and have found that to be a really nice improvement in ride quality and flex. Don't go too crazy yanking leaves, or you'll wind up with a lowrider, though. Experiment with it a bit, and you'll find the ride you're looking for.

Have fun with it, keep us posted on how it goes for you, and lets see some pix of African wheelin..... :smokin:
