i've got a 700r4 that is leaking fluid out the front up near the torque converter. i replaced the front pump seal and that slowed the leak a lot but it still isnt driveable. im thinking the converter is out of balance or some shit and isnt sealing good on that seal. i cant see anything wrong with the converter or transmission. if you have any ideas id appreciate it.

The bushing in the pump is probably worn and is usually the cause of this leak, which may also require the replacement of converter even though it looks good but it is hard to tell without micing it.

check your flywheel for being warped. also, check where the TC tabs meet the flywheel to make sure the FW isn't gouged up causing the TC to wobble. and check and make sure the TC bolts are tight.

It is probally the pump bushing as stated before. When you remove the T.C. seal it is the brass looking thing directly under it. Sometimes they will be loose enough to spin in the bore. As for the input drum, this will sound strange, but with the trans. sitting on it's tail. insert the drum and reverse input housing together. To engage the clutch plates to the splines you will have to shake and spin the input shaft. It will drop just below the landing for the pump. It can sometimes take quiet a bit of work to get it in place.
That being said, I would highly reccomend you find someone who knows a little bit about transmissions to help you. It sounds like you are in a little bit over your head.
