Can those spacers be cut down?? 1 3/4" is too much on top of my coils I think with the little arms. I'm only lookin' for 3/4 - 1 "

whats up with the quarter ellip. rear and a coiled shock? is that just a helper spring on the rear shock? just wondering 88YJ, looks killer tho--brad

I work with the guy who's uncle owns that heep. He brags about it all the time saying it can ramp this and that. Fawkin if u ask me. If you got time to paint all that shit, you wasted a lot of time not wheeling to look pretty. Anyway, back to topic, I dont think the 8" Skyjackers are too tall. A guy this past weekend in Clayton had a proto 10" set up on his TJ. 8"coils with 3"spacer I beleive. Worked awesome except his shocks limited and he busted the upper mount off of one and he needed to mount the limiting straps. He maxed out a 9012(the one that busted).
This was after it fell out.

good to hear that, ill be runnin 8 inches of lift, one inch body, and 42 inch tires... and my own control arms built to the length i need to keep everything in check.......
my axles are gonna be about 4 inches wider than stock...
DippStick 09-25-2001, 06:54 PM He's running an anti-rock and the back end disco'd that much ?
Talk about a balanced suspension NOT
DS
skinny 09-25-2001, 07:01 PM actually in that pic the shock had already broke and the coil came out of the uppermount, thats why it looks like the rear is flexn so much, it is actually quite balanced, that tj has 60s, nv4500, atlas 4.3, and full hydro steering, 39.5s tls in front bogs in back, 10 inch skyjacker, and 3 inch body lift, it actually kicks ass
CHOKE 09-25-2001, 07:29 PM WOW, That thing has changed... I saw it when it had hi-9's and 36's........looks awesome!
DippStick 09-25-2001, 09:17 PM "actually in that pic the shock had already broke and the coil came out of the uppermount,..."
And where's the rear swaybar ?
I thought the point of an Anti-Rock was to run it WITH the rear swaybar to give a balanced suspension front and rear ?
I'm not knocking it - if it works for him - go for it. I run mine disco'd front and rear with limit straps and it works awesome.
DS
DS,
Lets see a pic of your limiting straps. I am curious as to how you did yours. Thanks

what work you gonna be a jadens tonight?
DippStick 09-26-2001, 01:45 PM Mine actually attach to the frame and the shock mount.
Up front I used the hole in the side of the coil tower.
In the rear I used that oval shaped hole in the frame.
I disco'd it front and rear, stuck it on a ramp and measured it to within 1/2" of the shocks fully extending.
I also bought Explorer pro-crap ones which:
a) melted in two on my exhaust (had to get another and cover it in aluminum foil)
b) had to have the metal triangle mounts bent to stop hitting the shock.
I'd spend the extra and get flameproof offroad racing ones with weld on tabs if I were you.
DS
Thanks DS.. I knew you would have a inteligent answer.

Ok, Marks Jeep does not have any hi-9's. It has hi-pinion D60's front and rear. full hydraulic steering, pimped out 4.0, Nv4500, and an Atlas 4.3. A skyjacker 8" kit with I believe2"spacers, and a 3" body lift. He used to have the Currie hi-9"'s until he realized they break with like 33"tires. If you know how this guy drives u know what im talking about he fully Gets It!!
GRMhick 09-26-2001, 09:33 PM Yeah,i thought it was cool with the 36", now it is nuts. Last that I talked to him, he had just done that lift and was looking into putting in a viper V10. What happened with that?
