I am a huge dodge lover but dont know shit about these newer AAM axles. I was hoping some of you guys could school me! It's a front out of a 3500 cummins.
I searched the FAQ and there isnt very much of any thing in there about these.
I have one out of a 2005 that I am not going to use that i need to sell if any one wants it ill let it go super cheap.
thanks for the help

Location? There isn't a whole lot of after market support for them yet.

if u got the bigger of the 2 rear end (11.5) there is very little options when u look it up for dodge truck. chevy also the same rear end under some of their trucks, dunno which models. same ring n pinion just gotta check spline count. u'll find more stuff looking for a chevy w/ the same axle.

dunno if 2500/3500 share the same front axle, but if it is, it's a 9.25 AAM

the ball joints suck ass.... the unit bearings suck ass. The stock steering gear is garbage. that's the only probs I have with my whole truck.
Did balljoints and it drives like new again. The hub conversion is available but in a crawler application the unit bearings are good for quick axle changes (as long as you mill down the contact points of hub and knuckle.)

in my opinion the only thing they're worth is what they can be recycled for. :D I'd take the Dana's out of my 2nd gen over these any day ( if I still had it)

seen a couple of guys cut the ends and weld on std big bearing ends fora semi float high pinion setup and then grind the bottom of the housing. seems like a lot of work for an axle with littlee after market support.

Peterson's used them in their Ultimate Jk so how bad can they be. The front is high pinion 33 spline, and has a good range of gear ratio's availible, and the option of a front factory locker. I think peterson upgraded the axle shafts as well.
Does that mean I'm happy with my 9.25" in my 05' 2500, No I want a 60 dammit!

Is this axle still available? Should be in UT in December for work and could haul it home.......
