I've got an 03 Tundra with 48,000 miles. My fourwheel drive isn't working properly and I've been told that it's an Actuator within the transfer case. The stealer wants $2,600 to fix it. Any suggestions? If I look for a used transfer case out of another truck, does anyone know what years will work? Anything else I should consider? Sorry for posting here, just don't know where else to look.

i doubt it, but i have the transfer case out of my 02 tacoma(r150 tranny) if it fits your application(ill bet your an auto though) you can have it for $200...it is in perfect condition and has no mechanical issues...60k miles

Could be the t-case, or could also be the ADD. Get ahold of a manual and save yourself a whole bunch of money fixing it yourself. Or download it from techinfo.toyota.com.

I have a complete t-case with actuator that I've been trying to sell that I took out of my '01 Tundra. It had 30k miles on it when I took it out and put a new low range gear in it (cracked the original gear while trail riding). I installed an Atlas and crawl box in it's place. Send me a PM if you want to know anymore about it - and I'm not sure if it will fit your truck, but I'm going to guess that it's identical, may want to ask over on TS.

Xfer case should be the same for 00-03 tundras. There could be parts on the 04-06 that will fit 00-03 models but, since the engine changed to the VVTI, a separate manual was created. In anycase, I can provide sections of the manual in PDF or JPG on anything you need. Just let me know.
