i have a ratrod with a chrysler 400 and 727 in it, i cracked the 727 and was wondering if i could throw in a international 727 and thus move the starter to the other side of the motor and give me a better steering angle
or should i put my crack pipe down?

hmmm I always thought that the input shaft was the only difference. Isn't that why a lot of guys run Chrysler 440's?

On that note, how close is the IH pattern to an SAE pattern?

Not close at all, at least not on the SV's.

The guys running Mopar motors swap out the tailshaft and housing so they can run a dana 20 behind the Mopar 727 case. Just the opposite of the guys using the Jeep tailshaft and housing to run a Jeep dana 300 behind the IH tranny.
