: C-clip problem, when Swapping LC axles on Pu housing?

I need to offset a toy pick up axle to line it up with my right side t-case (Samurai), I am looking for a bigger offset than to short the right side of a later pu axle (58") in 3 ".
I actually have one rear PU housing and one complete rear LC axle. Based on splines are that same, the idea is to adapt LC axles to PU housing and 3rd member. The problem is that I need to avoid the C-clip retainer to hold PU axles to slide out.

Any idea to retain LC axles on PU housing?

what happens if you put a locker in there? (the kind that replaces the spiders) does that obviate the need for the C-clips? i've always wondered that.

does anybody make c-clip "eliminators" for Toys like they do for (some) Ford drop outs? ie 7.5" and 8.8"

Currently there are no C-Clip eliminators for TLC axles, save going to Full Float.

If I were you, I would send the Mini truck axle to Moser and have it cut down and resplined.

It won't cost too much....

Will the LC axle acccept the retaining and snap-ring style backing plate setup used on the end of the mini axle?

If you could fit the mini outer setup, which doesn't need c-clips, onto the LC axle, then you wouldn't have to run the C-clips.

I expect this isn't possible, or else every cruiser-head out there would be running minitruck brake assemblies to get rid of the c-clips, but it's just a thought.

Thats what I thought too. I called Moser (everyone else just said No!) and he said that they did not do Toyota axles and if he was to do them I had to pay a fee for setting up to do them. They would also be considered expiremental ( I figured that meant, no warranty). Anyway, the total cost was a little over $600 to have one cut and resplined and a long side made.
I ended up just running the cruiser axle, because you're gonna break a birfield long before you break that big hog leg axle in rear.
