Did you notice the loss in power before or after cutting off the mufflers?

How many miles on the truck? Did you change fluids after sitting in the creek? What about electrical (plugs, cops)? Cleaned the maf and throttle body? Run seafoam through it to clean out the carbon build up? Keep up with regular maintenance? Added more weight recently? the 5.4's, from what I've read and heard, like to have a little back pressure so you might think about putting a muffler on and getting high flow cats instead of no cats(especially if your trying to keep it street legal) o and flowmasters are also known to loose some low end torque, look into magnaflow or something else.

You just answered yourself. Loss in backpressure = loss in low-end
I did the same thing, but I knew what I was getting into and I lived with it. I gutted my cats (4 of them on these trucks) and left my Blowmaster on, and it didn't help. Throw a muffler on it if you want your low-end back.
