My 38s and passenger side hub didnt agree with each other and the smaller of the two bailed on me last weekend! All the studs sheered right off, I checked them a few days before and they wher all tight so I dont know if this was caused by the loosening of them or if they were just to week. What I was wondering was if there is anything to do as far as strengthining them goes. any input would help and YES I did do a SEARCH!

I assume you are running the stock AISIN-brand hubs?

If you had be running warns, they usually break before the studs do.

You running longfields?

A thought: superwinch hubs have an unlimited warranty. If you put those on, you're pretty much garaunteed to break one of those POSs before anything else lets go... then throw a stock hub on it, and take the superwincher back to the store at the end of the weekend and get a nice shiny new fuse...er, hub... for free.

I don't know if I'd run this myself or not, but it would probably beat trying to trail-fix sheared studs. So I thought I might mention it.

been there done that...still have the broken hub body, no big deal, don't happen often, was lose or wouldn't have happened. I torqued my steering arms to 120lbs, then after 2 runs they were down below 100lbs! I will retorque them after each run now.

Last obstacle of the day on Saturday. I get done and look at my hub held on only by the outer clip and on of the locating pins. The other pins is broken, all 6 studs sheared. I am certain they were tight, but the hub had been removed/reinstalled no less than a dozen time, most with air.

I was running hardened inners and Longfields, on 35 MTR's.

Didn't booger do the same to both of his hubs within a half hour of each other on Memorial Day? It happens...
