Hey guys, swapping a 4.3 TBI into a wrangler so I figured this would be the place to ask the engine questions. I got the motor and tranny mounted and have installed the harness, which was modified by Jims Performance. I also finished all of the other wiring. The harness and computer tested out good according to Jim and looks great. Engine wise, I have replaced plugs wires cap and rotor and have removed the SMOG system.

Heres the problem:

The engine turns over fine and cranks well with the starter but I cant get it to run. There is good amount of fuel coming out of the injectors and I am getting flames coming out of the headers (no exhaust yet) so I assume Im getting good spark. Im guessing this might be a timing issue but i dont have much experience with that kinda stuff and cant find any good info on the net.
I attempted to rotate the distributor to adjust the timing a little both ways but havent had any good results. All the wiring seems good.

Anyone have any ideas?

Try timing it the correct way . There is a brown/tan wire you have to disconnect AND THEN start it up. Once it's running set the timing TO 0*. Reconnect the wire and you're done timing it. If it won't run you either have the dizzy 180* out or the wrong firing order or just too far advanced/retarded.

And there is PLENTY of swap info out there, search harder Homer :homer:.
