What an exciting season it was running the XRRA Western Series! We had a blast racing and proving that you don’t need a high dollar rock buggy to have fun.
We would like to start by saying thanks to everyone that came through, supported and sponsored HomeGrown Racing.
Slee Off Road was a great sponsor to have behind us. Thank you for the use of the shop, lift, tools, time and storage of the Raisin between and after races. And, letting Ben take the time off of work to play and race.
Marlin Crawler, we don’t even know where to begin. Every time we needed something you were on top of it. Our prototype t-case (still a secret) worked flawless in putting down the power. You came through for us the day before our last race in Cortez by sending out those bad ass prototype steering arms. All I can say is bad ass!
Pit Bull Tires, thank you. I don’t care what anyone says about them, the 42” Rockers rock! It never felt like our tires were holding us back. We pointed them at rocks and they just hooked up. We never lost one side wall!
jimsgotparts.com, thanks Jim for all the spare knuckles and spindles. It was nice knowing that you had all the used parts we needed.
Mad Graphics, thank you for the vinyl work on the Raisin and tow rig. When we needed new vinyl you were on top of it.
Mac Straps, thanks! Your tie down straps got the Raisin to the events safely and were so fast to use. Every trailer queen needs a set of these!
Longfield, thank you for having our back and supporting your product.
BCSigns, thanks for the kick ass side panels and putting together the one a of kind HomeGrown camo.
Rocky Mountain Drive shafts, thanks for building some kick ass drive shafts.
Carrie and Julie, thanks for putting up with us on those late nights and all time that we spent with our other girlfriend the “Raisin”
And, lastly, thank you Jagermeister for providing the right hangover on race day to calm our nerves.
As for the damage report for the season, we broke a few parts. A longfield which was completely our fault. I don’t think you’re supposed to shove a 42” tire in a 35” hole….oops . Four drive shafts, but not a single one left us on the course. A rear pinion gear which then broke the rear t-case flange without damaging the output shaft. (Yeah, we still need a track bar!) This break left us high and dry and unable to finish the Colorado Springs race. We now carry a complete rear diff, set up and ready to go. And then there is the tubing we bent. We smashed the a-pillars in and had to straighten them and reinforce them for our own safety. Never knew that 120 wall dom would crush as easy as it did. And finally we bent our steering arms and broke a few
steering arm studs, damaging the knuckles. We had all the parts we needed to repair the Raisin and complete the race.
Thanks, again, to all of our sponsors and supporters! We'll hopefully see you next season!
