Tell me the best tune for a 6.0 gasser. I know this has been talked about, and people have mentioned places to have it done. I want to hear from people who have done it.
What are the advantages to getting rid of the "tourque management" system? What kind of gains should be expected? Any increase in mileage?
Go with a custom tune from
Justin at blackbearperformance
Wheatley
or
Nelson
You can read all about either at gmfullsize or fullsizechevy.com
I plan on going with Justin from Black Bear Performance, here is a recent review a guy from FSC did:

and you can read about some tm here: http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/performance/port-injection-96-obd-ii/123667-torque-management-pics-how-works.html

I had a nice conversation with wait4me performance today, and their price is quite inexpensive...
Called Wheatley, and was less than impressed with both the price and his attitude.

i can't understand all that tourque management jibber jabber. spoke with wait4me performance. they are nice, but very vague. it is kinda hard to know what you are getting with a tune on a gasser.
anybody with real world experience with any of these tunes?

anybody with real world experience with any of these tunes?Torque management basically reduces engine power (timing)at the point of the transmission shift to reduce the wear and tear on the transmission. Its they only way GM could get the 4l60 to live behind a Gen III. Lol...
You want a custom tune not a hand held plug tuner namely hypercrap.
Try these guys https://securehost98.hrwebservices.net/~herronp/store/
He's a sponsor here as well and seems to know alot about tuning.

so with a custom tune do they re do the shift points to? How does it affect the tow haul mode on the tranny? Ive been looking at the custom tunes for awhile maybe in the next month or two I'll get one to.

call justin at blackbear tuning. I have never ever heard ONE single bad thing about him and even tho i dont have a tune through him, hes been willing to help me and teach me a few things here and there about tuning.
with tuning, almost anything and everything engine/trans related can be adjusted. you can have 500 rpm shift points or 8K shift points or anywhere in between...i prefer around 6100-6200 on those motors. you name it, it can be done.
blackbear gets my vote.

Agreed, he will get my money
Also, search wait4me on fsc and gmfs, some unhappy customers. Not happy with the performance, customer service etc. Some have upgraded to a more expensive tune and say its a big difference. You get what you pay for

I'm running a wheatley tune on mine w/a AEM intake and dual muffler/exhaust and it runs pretty damn good for a quad cab 4x4.
Wheatly has great customer service and will do free retunes as well.
