I want to take a minute to publically thank a large group of friends, yeah I said friends, that I have met as a result of this board and the Erocc events.

I am terrible with names, and will no doubt screw up and forget someone if I try to do it individually, so in a blanket statement, THANKS to all those that helped out, offered to help, insisted we should eat, fed us, nursed our wounds, wounded us (where did all that beer come from?), cheered for us, consoled us, and just hung out with us.

I think I can speak for most when I say that there are some cool new friendships developing amongst us Pirate heads, the Erocc competitors, and especially those in the "Legends" class, which BTW, successfully negotiated the parking lot Sunday evening!

Oh, I gotta admit I was surprised to see Frankie, and although I don't wanna debate his attack on Crows Nest, you gotta admit, we won't forget him!

Did anyone ever catch a glimpse of DRM?

LOL. I don't think anyone wanted to see the comp. They just wanted to see DRM:
People want me to show up at events, so they can beat me up

He wasn't there, and you can see in this thread (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70427)

I'll second Mike's sentiments! We've got quite a little group (even including PinkDude :flipoff2: ) Niki of course, is always welcome, even though her boyfriend is a little :rainbow: And I'm not trifling, or do I have any tribulation :flipoff2:

I don't know where the beer was from. I brought a case down with me, and came home with three beers left? I dunno how that happened, but it did.

I hope that sometime next year maybe? We can all get together for a little wheelin (assuming EVERYONE has their rig together ) for a few days!

Can you say "Balls out attack" on a 4 story hillside a billy goat would avoid. He wailed on it, the motor singing at the rev limiter, working the cut boggers and rear steer like a mad man. The spectators loved it, the competitors only saw the obstacle being modified (political correctness).

He apparently was having some ignition related electrical problems that kept him from getting on the boost. They were in the lot working on it late Saturday afternoon. Last thing I heard he was gonna test it out after the coast was clear on the graded slopes in the parking area.

Something like wheel stands and gettin" it?

Considering that is the only time I have ever seen him drive, he has to have some skills. On his first attempt I thought it was going over, but he saved it quite nicely, then repeatedly attacked/saved/chewed up everything. He worked the shit out of the obstacle and the rig. It was quite the spectacle and I hope that someone puts up a video of it, cuz everyone should get a chance to see that show.

well we pulled in at 4am last night, up at 7:30am, and my ass was dragging all day in the 90° 90%+ humidity.

I have to say it was the best event so far, and i had a great time.

I've got a 100+ pics that need developed, so a couple days.

Frankie did get it running Saturday night. He ripped through the parking lot climbing a hill and jumping a small mound. It was running very strong. The last jump was about 4 feet in the air at 60-65 mph. (gave the CSS Sports guy a real thrill) When he landed a rod-end let go. He got on the brakes so hard he nearly endo'd. The axle wrapped back and hit the bottom of his brand new engine and bent the crankshaft. He said he would have it ready for September.

Here's the story: He went out to the parking lot to try and get the electrical problems worked out. He was making "only" about 250 horsepower when he went up Crows Nest.
After everyone had gone he got the motor running like it was supposed to.(He said probably 500 horsepower). He nailed it across the parking lot and said he was going so fast that he could hardly see.
All of a sudden he came to the end of the runway, so he slammed on the brakes (bad idea since his brakes are adjustable front to rear and he had about 90% braking on the front, since he forgot to change it after the hill climb).
After the dust settled he had broken the front links which rolled the front end up under the truck. Here is the list of carnage:
-broke all chromoly links
-broke both coilovers (ouch!)
-hole in oilpan (you could see the crank)
-broke driveshaft
-pinion hit A/C compressor sending it flying about 20 feet from truck
-broke transmission in half
-bent tie rod when it hit the frame
...and he was grinning like a Chessire cat when he did it because the motor had so much power
