Cost for a FJ-62 Transfer Case

I need help here on a fair price to sell my 1990 FJ-62 TC. I don’t want to give it away but also don’t want to screw anyone on the deal. I know a while back I ask a similar question buried in another post. SO please let me know if you have bought one or know of people selling a similar bugger. I know they are sought after since they are the last of the non-chain driving units and have the vacuum shift for the 2X to 4X. I also have no idea what the factory O/D automatic is worth either. (I can’t imagine much for the trany)

Thank you!

(And yes Noland I am going to try running the off set drive line with a NP208 TC or NP241. Time will tell if it all works! Thanks for the suggestion to run the off set drive line.)

I will post pics of how offset my Cruiser is right now when I get Kate again and I am having no problems at all with vibration.

I gave $1200 for a tranny/t-case from a wrecked CCOT cruiser (87 FJ60).

I really got raked over the coals because they wouldn't seperate them AND it was the only one within 300 miles

I gave $400 including shipping for a split transfer case about two months ago. Split cases from 60s are bringing decent money because of all the h55f swaps. I'm not sure if the 62 case bolts up to a h55f. A cool thing that is possible, I think, is to take a late model 86-87 60 series split case and put the 62 series gears in them. I think the 62 cases came with a low range close to 2.5. Unfortunately, I didn't have a 38mm transfer to buy and it would have meant buying two cases to get the lower gears. Too much $ for the little gain.

Thanks fella’s for the info, Nolen please do post up some photos of your driveline! FJ60 sorry to hear you got hit for the big bucks on that set up, I wish I could have sold you this one..heck I could have saved you at least $10.00 :) I had no idea the thing might have lower gears in it. (Time to hit the factory manual) It comes down to a friend that wants the TC has offered to pull the motor/tyranny, store the motor in exchange for the TC + $500.00 (paid to me). I am leaning toward doing this since it will give me free storage. (My two car garage is almost maxed out with equipment....I need a shop!) The hassles selling/shipping ect. Just might not be worth an extra $250 or so for the TC.

Thanks again for all your input!
