: YJ frame replaces my CJ frame

I need to replace my old, rusted, detoriated CJ frame. I found a good 95 YJ frame. I had a 4cyl motor, still has steering pump on it, and leafs/shackles.

I have a CJ with the 258 motor. Other than moving and welding the motor mounts and 2 body mounts...is there anything else I need to consider?

I will be putting two Dana 44 from a ScoutII that I already have set-up.

How do I determine where to weld the motor mounts if I dont have the CJ handy. (the new YJ (to me) is in my garage, and my truck is at my parents house...I could measure, but dont want to go wrong)

Thanks

i would have just looked for a complete YJ with the 4.0 and sell the CJ:flipoff2:

seems like you would need to drop the 4.2 in the frame to locate the mounts:confused:

I'll be watching your build, as I am going to attempt a similar swap with my CJ-5 this winter. I will be doing a body stretch at the same time.

In there, somewhere, is all the frame measurements for YJ and CJ. They'll give engine mount locations as well.
