Hey yall I want to try out an electric fan on my TJ. I have done elec fan before on other rigs but I never used a shroud this time I'm going fab one. Hopefully so I get max airflow and cooling from the fan.
My question is this how far away should the shroud be? Too close not enough air too far no enough suction right?

Check out SPAL fans they are a little pricy but well worth it. Also get on that has a shroud all ready on it and get one that covers your radiator core and all problems are solved.

I gotta ask why in the first place?

On that note, a 350 conversion forced me to go to electric. I chose SPAL after doing a ton of research.

See those little flaps at the top & bottom of the shroud? Those open up at freeway speeds to allow air flow through where most other fans restrict flow at these speeds.

Anyone know of a electric fan with shroud that will fit a FJ40's radiator?

If I'm not mistaken, Black Magic fan model 165 made by Flex-a-lite fits mini Toys and Land Cruisers.
