: Switching tubes?

I have a Ford HP D60 in my 92 heep. could I switch the axle tubes to make it a pass side diff??

Yes, you can. I had both of my tubes replaced and now run a Pass side Ford 60 in the front. For the record, yuou really only need to retube the short side and then cut the longside down, but my axle guy swapped both for whatever reason...fine with me:)

WTF do people waste time converting back to 5 on 5.5? why not just stay with the 8 lug?

Waste of time IMO but maybe someone can educate me.

I would think that a set of custom wheels would be easier than all that bullshit brake work and such. Plus if you are going that big beadlocks are in your near future anyway right?

Let's see, I already have 4 sets of wheels. bl's, aluminums, you name it. Rear axle is 5 lug and has been for years, why would I want the extra weight of 8 lug, the extra work to convert the rear to 8 lug, or the extra expense to buy 4 new sets of wheels? Can you figure it out for me?

One word : variety

Not alot out there for 8lug & 15" (Most common tire size)
