ya i searched (DUH! i've been here since early '00) and didn't get quite the answer i wanted...

ok, stock located zuk t-case, with a toy wide track axle pushed back 3/4in (offset drilled perches) with an early toy front driveshaft in the rear, it's sprung over on stock spring's with an extra leaf added to clear 33in bogger's nicely... is teh DL going to bind and possibly break the t-case output??

BTW, this is not for a buggy :flipoff2:

dont think itll break the shaft, but youre going to have some mean vibes at speed.

The only thing I have heard about using the toy axles that are if you gear the t-case the centered rear puts alot of stress on it and guys have been breaking them. Anyone else get this?????

never heard that shit before. Dave, honestly, it'll be fine. I am asuming the toy front has a cv on it. I have never even heard of a sammi output breaking, although I know it's certainly possible.
I've got arizona drivelines with a cv on the rear and honestly the compound angle isn't as bad as thought it would be. There is one good solution to this problem though, DUAL TOY CASES:flipoff2:

unless i'm muchly mistaken, this is just about exactly what Fatkid's running, isn't it?

-toy axles, pushed back a *bit* for a little more wheelbase
-33" bogg's
-416's in the transfer case
-529's (i think) in the diff's
-front toy cv driveshaft going to the centered diff

sounds sweet, and i think Fatty even leaves the Mall every once in a while to use his Sammy. so i hear.)
:D

If you look in here I have a picture of my rear drive shaft (front toy) on to 85 mini truck rear.

It works even better if you run a high-pinion diff :grinpimp:

Think about it, theres only 2 possible angles.

CV on one end of a shaft with an angle at both ends is bad $hit for street driving. You will fatigue stuff fast. The toy stuff is strong but it is still going to beat on everything.

Ken

Before y'all bitch back about 2 years and its fine, go learn how a u-joint works. CV = smooth speed in smooth speed out. Single carden = smooth speed in, sine wave speed out. Combine the 2 and you don't have 2 u-joint to cancel.

WTF makes you think he is talking about street driving?:flipoff2:

Crap, that's how it works? Guess I better quit driving my rig  Why is it someone always has to troll this subject every couple of weeks?

DSI: I doubt you'll have enough flex to bind the driveshaft with stock springs. I think It is possible to bind the differential end with YJ's, I suspect I have done it on occasion according to the gouges on the flange (despite the flange being scooped out for u-joint clearance).

I need to learn about shit like this, at times I think its way over my head.:(

All the drive shaft GODs over hear need to go tell the Toy guys that a Square Tube front drive shaft will never work too. They need some of this stuff too. Reguardless of them running it or not...:(
