I am (HOPEFULLY) putting in my new ARB next week after I get my air installed this weekend.
The setup that I will be running is 2 air tanks in the rear of the truck running off of an onboard York Air compressor. There is going to be a regulator in between the tanks and the compressor. Then a line out to a air gage in the dash. And from there, I will have one line going to the ARB and one out the bumper somewhere for me to fill up the tires with.

What I was wondering is, do you have to regulate a certain amount of air that goes to the ARB?

ARB is supply 75-80 PSI

I thought ARBs wanted between 80psi and 105 psi.

I talked to a tech at ARB once, he recommended 90 psi.

I think you're asking about volume and no, you don't need to regulate the AMOUNT of air, just the pressure. I run mine at 90 psi.

The documentation says 85-105 psi but I have seen one run on as low as 60 psi. Probably will work with higher than 105 but I wouldn't wnt to find out what pressure it fails at.

before I got my york going, I was running my ARB on just a 5 gallon tank. at home I filled it to 80 lbs. after a day of wheeling (on and off about a dozen times)the tanks only droped to about 77 lbs. they worked fine @77 lbs.

I would also recomend running the pres reg between the tanks and the ARB. your preasure swich will keep your york from over pumping your tanks. this way you can run a moderate preasure into your ARB to save the seals and still have 120 lbs to set beads and make tools sing <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Otherwise I was going to try the caddy compressors since they were made for high pressure low volume - just need a regulator..

yep, i heard no higher then 100psi, which is what there elctric compressor put out... i would try as little as possible.... i would guess 80psi would be a good place to start.

I called the ARB tech guys a long time ago and they told me to run it between 80-85psi. No problems in 4 years.

Just FYI..(since I've seen this discussed many times before this thread even) my ARB "Installation Guide", in regards to air supply pressures, states:

"-Must supply a minimum of 85 PSI [586 kPa].

-The supply must never exceed 105 PSI [724 kPa]."
