i guess the big question is, full width tj or normal width?
background:
97 tj 4.0/auto on 36" tsls....beat.... going to be on 38-40" rubbers by next summer... and cut the body.... strictly a trail rig.
either way im buying some brackets, and fabbing others....

ive got a 8.8(explorer) that i planned on swapping in. If i do this, ill need to regear both it and the front axle.
recently though, i came across an ol f 250... dana 44 front, and a 60 rear.
these have gears that will work for me.... so the cost will be about the same.
the biggest problem i have with the full width axles so far, is that i dont have any tires for them... they have 16.5" rims, that are good,so i plan to use them. I know the 44 is realistically no stronger than my 30,(other than the ring)
and i realise the 60 is a great choice....
but is full width worth it?
are there many advantages?
what about the disanvantages, like not fitting on some trails? or is it really all that bad?
