Ok, I need some advice from you spring guru's out there. I was out at the local junkyard and picked up a set of Waggy springs for the flatty. Problem is they only had 1 set. So I was checking out a ~86 Cherokee. The rears are 23.5"x29". My question is will they work? I'm tring to get the longest springs under this thing I can with out to much overhang. I know I could just do YJ's but why be normal?

Thanks
Keith

Sure, they can be made to work. But since you didn't mention if you're just gonna bolt them in or fab up mounts, it's hard to say how easy.
Spring over or under? Number of leaves, thickness? What's special about 'em? Is the flatty light or heavy? You have to be specific about stuff like this.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I should have been a little more specific. It's got a 231v6/th350. It used to have a winch but that got lifted. I know I'll have to do mounts and will probably do a s/r while I'm at it. Will probably have to do soa. Want to keep it fairly low though I'm not a big fan of tall lifts with narrow axles. And I have to much in the axles to swap them right now. But it needs to clear atleast 33" tires. I don't mind opening up the wheelwells a little but would like to keep the basic lines the same. The waggy springs are 6 leaves ~44" with a 21/23 offset. Figured I'd drop the 2 bottom leaves and use them on the rear due to the short driveshaft. The Cherokee springs are 4 leaves ~ 52" with a 23/29 offset.

Thanks
Keith

Sure they'll work, you just have to fine tune things a little to get where you want. I'm using XJ/YJ combo leaves in the front of my heavy CJ with 7 leaves. You'd probably be fine with the stock XJ pack up there spring over since they run flat.
One thing you might want to do- find a couple more main leaves of suitable length and cut the eyes off, use those under the XJ mains. They get a lot of stress between the mains and seconds, not to mention yours are probably real pliable after 16 years. The new second leaf helps a lot.
Should flex really well.
