Can anybody give me some info on tapping a scout box for an assist set up?
The box came off a scout early 70's has the forward pitman arm.

Probably just like any other Saginaw steering box....

Drill two holes and then you tap them:D

You can't tap a Scout box without Titanium drills and taps because the box is so awesome :rolleyes:

where would a guy purchase such drill bits?
would it work best if i beat on it with my scull till i get a crack,then drill at the crack?

You want to beat on it with an oar, or with the bone that holds your brain?

IMHO, tap it on top. That's how I did mine and it will give better flow on left turns than tapping the rail like is shown in this sites faq.
there's pics in my build thread. You've got to be very accurate.

Have you worked out a fitting scheme for your box yet? That middle tapped hole looks like it will be kinda tight once the OEM hoses are in place.
I likes how this will keep the hoses all in the same area!!

I've got two 1/4npt to #6JIC/-6 AN adapters for my hydraulic hoses, no pics yet, but it clears everything. I have to install the right turn assist fitting first, then install the pressure/return flare lines. Tight indeed, but fits fine.
