Sorry no pics but I can tell you the stories.

My best stuck.... hmmm..... Let me see. Was it the time I was stuck on the mountainside for 19 hours or was it the time when I drove into the river and later had the truck burn down?

This goes back to my Army days.

One time I was on a field exercise and I was in an RRB (Radio Re-Broadcast) detachment. I was trying to get to higher ground and turned to go up a road that went through an area that was being logged. I followed a road up the hill but it turned out to be a skidder track and I very quickly got stopped by the ruts. Turning around was very difficult as it had been raining hard for the past three days and the path was very slippery. I turned around to go back down the hill but I found a small problem. When I had gone up the hill there was a very large puddle, actually more like a small pond, that had been at the top of the hill that I drove up. When I had driven through the water the small pile of dirt that held the water back broke and all the water ran down the hill and washed out the road behind me. When I went back down the hill I could not stay on the road because it wasn't there anymore. I ended up in very deep mud high centered with the frame rails on hard ground for the entire length of the truck. We tried to dig ourselves out for several hours and once we had nothing under the tires but air we gave up and called for recovery. 19 hours after falling off the road the recovery crew showed up to pull us out with their 5 ton wrecker. This 6 wheel drive monster almost got stuck trying to get us out!

This one goes back to my Army days as well.

I was crossing the Battle River in Alberta. This was my first time fording a river. I was told to enter slowly and keep the power on steady until I reached the other side. Of course I didn't listen. I hit the water too fast. Ooops The truck came to a dead stop. The force of hitting the water lifted the truck a bit and it came to rest off of the path. The the cab of the truck was full of water right up to about 2" below the window and the hood was completely underwater. I was standing on the roof of the cab watching my cam nets float down the river when my friend pushed me in to go swim after them... LOL We winched the truck back and opened the doors. Whoosh... out came all the water and most of our small items. I cleared all the water out of the engine by removing the spark plugs and dumping the river out of the air cleaner. A steady stream of water came out the exhaust too... LOL I eventually got the truck running again and drove back to the base. The truck ran terribly for the first little while and was leaking tranny fluid the whole way. After about 40 minutes of driving we noticed that there was smoke coming into the cab. About 2 or 3 minutes later the guy in the middle seat said that he saw flames through the shifter boot. I slammed on the brakes and threw it into Park. We all jumped out before the truck even stopped moving!!! I was right next to the POL point (fuel station) for the base! I put the fire out with a 10lb dry chem, a 50lb dry chem and a 50lb CO2 extinguisher. In the process I further injured my shoulder that I had hurt weight lifting two weeks earlier. It was quite the ordeal. A few minutes after I finished extiguishing the fire, the fire trucks showed up and decided to spray some foam. The report from the fire department said that the transmission had sucked in water through the vent and when the water boiled it carried transmission fluid up the dipstick tube where it dropped onto the exhaust manifold and ignited. Of course in the base newspaper the firemen were congratulated for putting out the fire.

Fun stuff, don't ya think?

P.S. Drychem stings alot and it tastes like shit!

Well I avoid mud whenever possible. I just hate cleaning and repair stuff when mud gets in it. This was brake peddle deep inside. Pasenger was able to jump to dry ground. Didn't look bad. I was to the right and it walked sideways into some holes from another truck that I figure was on something like 40's. http://communities.msn.com/_Secure/0LQDA92gPL1iMQu*U02720xF!MMPJOYVMVgr04RQHve8nR0q!d K6pjWVBoVLHa50sczC58IOVFQI/Stuck1.jpg
Good old sothern mud! like grease when wet and concrete when it dries. I drove about a 1/4 mile with that mess hanging on the tire LOL.
