Just picked up a dana 60 rear and would like to figure out my disc brake options. It is from a early ford, FF. But it does not have the wide drums that most 60s have. The brake surface is only about 2 inches wide. Can anyone give me some info on this axle? WMS-WMS is approx 65". I want to slap some discs on it and get it ready to swap in.
Thanks for the info!
Caleb

Ok for starters you will have to true up the backside of the hubs on a lathe so the rotors will have a nice flat to live,(do search on D60 rear discs)
I used mid 70's gm 3/4 rotors $22, and 77 blazer calipers $13 and made my own weld on caliper brackets.
You will also need new studs which I will have to look in the dorman book to get you the # that I used but I do know the price $1.70 x 16

If you need any help let me know and here is a pic of what mine look like.

Check in the back of a 4 wheeler or Petersons and you'll find at least half a dozen companies that supposedly make a bolt on option for a Dana 60 rear end. Their not cheap tho might might be an easier option if you're willing to spend the money. I wouldn't pay more that $400 for a complete rear end setup.
