This isn't hardcore tech but I figured this was the place to get the best answer. I am looking to 4 link the rear of my YJ. Are the kits like Poly Performance worth the cost or would it be substantially cheaper to buy the steel and make it? I am SOA currently and will only link the rear.

its easy find out the cost of the kit from poly and while you are on the phone get a price for the heim joints and hold on to your wallet for the 4130 tube

I think it is always cheaper to make your own but my choice to to buy brackets and make my own control arms. Making brackets takes too much time and work to justify the savings. The only time I will make brackets is when when I want is not available. In addition to Poly Performance check out Ballistic they have a good line of brackets at very good prices.

if you have to ask that question it will be a lot cleaner if you buy all the mounts from poly.

I bought a lot of my brackets from ruffstuffspecialties.com
They are 3/8", cleanly cut, and Dan @ Ruff Stuff is a great guy to deal with.

I have bought some stuff from Ruff Stuff also and felt they were great to deal with. I have done everything on the Jeep myself and this will be no different. I figured that buying at least the brackets would be my best bet but wasn't sure if the links would be the same story. I haven't priced steel locally but the PP kit is almost a grand and that doesn't even include coil buckets, etc...I am trying to avoid cutting through the tub to get something like air shocks or coil overs in so I think a 4 link with coils will be the best option. Thanks for everyone's input. I'll plan on getting brackets and do the links myself, couldn't be much different than the high steer I did aside from the size of the tube and ends of course. Thanks again.
