oh..oh...I know....in the diffrential??

its probably a dana 35...and go see any one of a thousand diffrential guys...check the vendors section..

since your askin in ford...im assuming its a front axle?? some years in the rangers those were reverse cut if its not an independant front suspension with the little axleshafts with the rubber boots...

if it has the standard universal joints is probably a reverse cut..

You do know there is a dana 135 right wanderer? They came in the rear of the F550s. And judging by his username Im assuming thats what he has.

good luck regearing a S-135 rear axle to something other than factory. if you have a auto I know of no one who can reprogram the ecm's on 450's and 550's for other gear ratios so the trans shifts correctly.

and yes Dana does have 4.10 ratio gears and diff cases for the S-135. Just ford only uses 5.38's

hey snaggletooth, maybe pull your head out of your cum filled ass and take a gander under a f450-650 instead of looking under rangers and other mens scrotums.

I don't know where you will find 4;10's for the diff, but if I remember right the Dana 135 have a ring gear that is rivited to the carrier. It has been a few weeks since I have replaced one so I might be wrong.

I am by no means an f550 expert, but I know that my inlaws 08 550 has 4:10 gears an I'm pretty sure it has 4:10's stock, maybe in one of the newer diffs?

My old F-550 workturd had 4.88's. 6.0L diesel w/ auto trans. Might have to find one in a 'yard.

find a dana dealer and order what ever you need.

4.78-5.38 will fit your current diff cases. btw, parts are not cheeep by any means.

Although he could have been storied too, my dad was told that the highest gear ratio available for the 135 is the 4.30's. My dad just paid $3800 to have his 08 6.4l tt 450 geared up to 4.30. The ring gear in back is half the carrier. And in the front it takes a different carrier to run 4.30s instead of 4.88's. Ford was able to reprogram it but instead of getting better fuel mileage like he was going for it now gets worse. 5 mpg grossing 30,000 lbs:barf: 11mpg empty :barf: Its a pullin bastage and he even got second in sled pull with it but its thirsty.

Get a larger tank. It's about range, not mileage. Thou...mileage helps.

The Dana 135 was only used in earlier F450 and F550's from what I found. I've got one under the rear of my F350 now. It's a 4.88 gear with a 8x225 bolt pattern. I believe it came out of a 2001 F550, if I remember right. Later trucks use a Dana 110 with a 10 lug, maybe 10x225?, pattern. I think I've gotten returned calls with factory 4.10 Dana 135's from salvage yards as well so check there, I guess. Hope it helps.

I think I remember looking at a GM or Dodge truck catalog way back(@'91-'93) when I first found out what dana even was and saw a dana 135 in the rear specs.

I think it'd be cool for someone to get a hold of one of these, take it apart and build one for a rear app 1st then try a front. Rocks are sweet but you gotta run a jacked up truck over those top loaders. Plus I just think odd ball axles are cool. Like Randy Torrbit's New Holland sticks and that guy from Canada who was in TTC running the euro HD equipment axles that he fully modded.:smokin:
