: wiring an auto meter tach

I searched and found nothing concreate so maybe somebody can help. I have 85 22r that i want to wire in a tach and i have no idea where to s[lcie into cause it never had one to start. I know all the truks are wired for every option so the wires for the tach should be there but where? Thanks cody:beer: :usa: :

some one correct me if i'm wrong.

i wired mine for my 22re.

i grounded the ground wire.

connected the accesorie wire right to the fuse in the fuse box(driverside kick panel) for my interior lights.

and third i connected the last wire to the positive???(read the directions) of the ignitor coil. hopefully i am remembering correctly.(it was a while ago)

When I wired the one in my 90, I looked at the gage cluster in my FSM, found the wire that said tach, pulled it out of the plug and connected the wire from the tach to the wire that was marked tach in the FSM, one to ground and one to the dash lights. :D

On your 85 22R there should be a Black wire and a Black w/Red Stripe wire going to the Igniter. Connect the Tach wire to the Black wire. Connect light, ground, & +12V as above.
