look how RR sent me this install kit called them up and they said they ship them all rip open like that and wont do a thing about it so if you want a used install kit at new price buy it from rocky road
zuksofhazzard 08-21-2008, 04:06 PM That's Terrible.
If I was going to sell it AFTER it had been opened at all, I'd package it in a box or something. I wouldn't even suggest that it was in original packaging.
I really doubt that anyone would consider that New. Maybe a "Scratch and Dent" (discount items), but not New.
Blind Driver 08-21-2008, 05:23 PM Another happy customer
BLUE_ZUK1 08-21-2008, 05:49 PM WTF!? :barf:
who are they trying to fool?
jeep937 08-21-2008, 05:55 PM I think this should be in bad sellers. Get 'em! I would call the credit card company and contest charges. That is fucked.:mad3::eek::shaking::evil:
supazuk94 08-21-2008, 05:57 PM is charlie wenzel working for them?
benttoy 08-21-2008, 06:02 PM is that a packet of mustard I see?
rusty_scout 08-21-2008, 06:16 PM I think this should be in bad sellers. Get 'em! I would call the credit card company and contest charges. That is fucked.:mad3::eek::shaking::evil:
The bad sellers area is for Pirate deals only, and i don't think RRO is a vendor on here.
prestonlaw 08-21-2008, 06:21 PM I planned on purchasing some high dollar items through Rocky Road, after I see this I'm not so sure....what do you guys think, is this a one time thing or have other people experienced the same?

sami-stine 08-21-2008, 07:29 PM buy frome someone else! try the guys at low rang off road. they can get you just about what ever you want, and they do it at a good price. they don't deal with RRO. and i wouldn't givin the option of someone else.

i was going to use trailtought but they did not have one stock so i thought i would try rro
LittleBlackSambo 08-22-2008, 12:39 AM figmo sells the same yukon kit, except they ship with the pack intact.
I've ordered a few times from RRO. they have some shit-for-brains on the order line who claims not to know anything when i've asked questions. they say they have the items on the shelf, but i've waited 8 weeks for parts from them. unfortunately, they have kick-ass driveshafts, and a good knuckle-over for the stock axles, so i've sucked it up and made those orders when the time came. RRO does deliver- but you have to expect the order to show up late, get crappy service, get bad responses when you make "where's my stuff" calls, and have the charge show up on your credit card statement immediately, before the item ships... if they were up front about their awful service, it wouldn't be so bad... i just hate getting lied to and being blown off.
search RRO and service, you'll get plenty of complaint threads. pays to know who to buy from and who to avoid. trailtough is golden. roadless gear is a good bunch. hawk ain't bad either. don't get me started on calmini... that's an entertaining search- find the audio byte of a phone call to steve that one of the members recorded, it's friggin' awesome.
Yankee Tim 08-22-2008, 04:55 AM what do you guys think, is this a one time thing or have other people experienced the same?
Aww, doesn't the wide-eyed innocence of a newcomer make you smile?
Naw, go right ahead and order. This is a one-time thing. :homer:
2slo4u 08-22-2008, 07:18 AM I've ordered 4-5 setup kits in the last 2 years from on-line businesses and *none* of them showed up looking like that. But then I quit using RRO right after a critical weld in their coil kit broke due to lousy welding.
Looks like somebody tore the parts out and then realized they were setting up a v6 so they threw the parts back in the box and put them back on the shelf.
:homer:

Where's the linky?
moveaside 08-23-2008, 09:34 AM People want customer service like the ability to return a product that was opened but maybe you ordered the wrong part. Classic example I did that to trail gear once. I bought the hydro assist from rockrat but asked trail gear if I can just return it to them to save on shipping. They agreed I sent it back and got the bigger ram because I changed my mind later.
So what are they supposed to do throw the one I returned away? Discount price it? Especially from people like us who change their minds every other week what we are going to buy or do. Face it wheelers are like women trying on lingerie we can't make up our minds and its not right for us to return it but we do.
Well somebody has to buy that returned item so suck it up sometimes. I got shipped some johnny joints from trail gear that were opened but all the pieces were there fairly recently. Did I bitch? Hell no they probably got these from some dumbass who returned them and decided to do leaf springs instead or couldn't afford the steel to make the damn link he was going to use this for.
That being said in this particular circumstance RR doesn't have much of a leg to stand on just based on the amount of complaints they get on a regular basis. I bought one thing from them and they shipped it within a couple of days but thats just my personal experience.
greenzuk 08-23-2008, 09:46 AM i would not care if there would have raped all the pieces up but to let them bounce a round like that that pore on there part but you know there dont care all they want is your money look at there rap

Any retail seller should request customer authorization to receive if the state of the item/s integrity or original packaging has been compromised BEFORE shipping out. That is basic retail common courtesy.......
To do less is guaranteed to garner all sorts of customer complaints, and rightly so.
JMHO.
Baratacus 08-23-2008, 10:14 AM also keep in mind that if you return something you didn't want they charge a "re-stocking fee" That fee is to cover their re-packaging the item and shelving it, or marking it down for open box sale. Repackaging in this case would be bagging and sealing and printing a new label. RRO is notorious for its poor customer service and "too buisy to deal with you" attitude. (don't listen to Yankee Tim... he's a baaaaaad man  )
If they don't take the item back at their expense (no reshelving fee, no return shipping fee) then you can report this to your credit card company as "Did not recieve item that was ordered" You ordered a new item, you got an opened Item. If there is no disclaimer on RRO's website or order forms that state you may recieve open box items, they have to refund you or your credit company will refund you and then go after them for reimbursment.
Of course in the meantime, you can't install your parts because after the finish dragging it out with the credit company for a month or so, they may request you ship the items back for an exchange or refund.
greenzuk 08-23-2008, 11:02 AM i finely talk to glen he said ups did that and to file a claim with them I called ups and told them they would send a rep out to look at it and he would file fraud claim against RRO

it is widely known who the shits and the saints are in the samurai biz. consumer opinions abound, but there are distinct trends. before giving your hard-earned money to anybody, it is a good idea to find out what their reputations are.

i completely forgot about the nate/heather/kerry/steve thread... what a trip!
hcgalvin 08-26-2008, 03:19 PM i completely forgot about the nate/heather/kerry/steve thread... what a trip!
Yeah, I don't think Steve likes me much. Couldn't believe it.
After that I was *so* ready to go outside and peel off my calmini stickers while filming it going "ooooh, ooh yeah, ooooh" while wearing a bikini. :grinpimp: My husband thought that might potentially not go over well.
So I just peeled them off in silence.
I USED to give Calmini such a good name. I USED to refer them all the time. I spent several thousand dollars on their stuff. I even got my local Les Schwab Tire to order through them and and promote them to other folks that came in. Even though I questioned their operation. After that thread, I'll never do that again.
zookfiend 09-02-2008, 03:39 AM hey guys
Im in melbourne australia
Ive bought from Rocky Road several times as custom zook shit is hard to find in australia, they have always sent what ive asked for and in good condition it seems well made
I always order over the phone and make sure my order is retard proof as its not practical to send shit back from here and the dude on the phone dont sound real bright (have to ring at 430 am here due to time difference)
some of the stuff has taken a while to show but that could be ups fault too
cheers andrew
rockmonkeyoffroad 09-02-2008, 07:06 PM Had bad experiences with both RR and Calmini. Ordered a YJ spring kit for my Sammi from RR. The picture showed what appeared to be laser cut parts. What I got was ROUGH, ROUGH flame cut parts. Holes did not line up. Parts not shaped the same from one side to the other. Did I mention that not everything was there? When I called them , they told me I could ship it back, pay shipping, a restocking fee, and when they determined all the pieces were there, they would refund me. Kind of hard to send all the pieces back when I didn't get all of them. When I expressed my displeasure with this (I was nice about it) they told me, and I quote "well I guess you dont have to buy from us next time." And I never have and spread the word every chance I get.
Calmini :mad3:...if I need anything they sell I will order it through SpiderTrax so I don't have to deal with them. I give SpiderTrax props. They are the ONLY company I have delt with that has gotten every single order correct. And have gone out of their way to find me a part (had it next day drop shipped at no extra cost) when were out of stock.

If Rockroad and Calmini were the only places to buy Samurai stuff I would wheel a jeep so I would have to deal with them.
zookfiend 09-03-2008, 04:59 AM having said above rro were ok I just put my new order in with sean at lowrange easy to deal with and knows his shit.

:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing: :laughing::laughing:
greenzuk 09-22-2008, 03:08 PM i will never form RRO again
blackrider 09-22-2008, 03:16 PM i know ,what is it with companies like that, they got too big and said fuck it...
that's why buying from the little guy is so much better, you talk to the owner personally and he wants the return business and word of mouth advertising...
O'neal 09-22-2008, 04:44 PM I'll be one of the few....I've bought and still buy from RRO,everything I've bought has been good quality but I'm only 45 min away and when I need a part I plan on a fly by on the way to salt lake.Plus while I'm there I can check the good's before purchase...No hidden suprises or mail waiting for me:D
