A better Fuel Sender [Archive]

I'm a bit frustrated at the performance of Fuel Senders manufactured for the Jeep CJ. I have one in the tank that is nearly empty and it's reading around 92 ohms. I have another one on the bench which doesn't reach the full range (10 ohm full - 73 ohm empty).

What's the deal?

Is there a better, higher quality fuel sender available for these jeeps? I just want a little consistency and accuracy.

I think JC Whitney has an after market universal sender with a mated guage. As far as quality, don't know.
Could try a new sender.
