: anybody running holley fp with TBI?
1983Bronco 08-24-2008, 07:38 PM my E2000 shit out on me and I had a holley vein style pump laying around, think it was a holley "blue" pump, not sure label was gone, pump I installed in on my Jeep, 350 with TBI, and it works great, runs 15 psi, I looked up on Holley's site and they said its not recommended to run this pump with F.I., not sure why. Just wanted to see if anyone else was running this pump, don't feel like shelling out anymore cash. Thanks in advance
Bill usn-1 08-24-2008, 09:22 PM As long as it maintains the pressure under a load and not just at idle.
The TBI system is a full return system where a carb has a bowl to store the fuel.
So with TBI it has to maintain volume and pressure under load to maintain the proper AFR. Or you may run lean at top end.
So hook up a gauge and run it under your wiper blade facing in so you can see it while you drive.
The pressure should not change by more then maybe 1/2 pound.
1983Bronco 08-25-2008, 08:48 AM I'll check under load, it stayed steady while gassing it not under load, anybody runnin this type holley?

I'm confused...
If you check it and it's good or bad, then what would it matter if others are running it?
It either works or it doesn't.
You weren't even sure what model pump you have so how are others going to know if they are running the same pump?
I can tell you for a fact that the E2000 and the E2182 both work just fine and last for years if installed properly and with good filters before the pump.

well my e2000 took a crap in about 6months with a new 10 micron filter before it, I said holley blue pump, also I have learned that by asking others I will save myself time and money. I was curious why holley does not recommend it for F.I., thought maybe it was too high volume. Sorry if you don't like the fact that I looked for more opinions than just yours. I'm sure someone else is running this "style pump", and I greatly value first hand experience. Thanks

As there are many different types and "brands" of F.I. I would imagine Holley puts that recommendation out there as a generalized label. Some F.I. runs slightly higher than performance carb fuel press....like GM's TBI. Others have pressures much much higher in comparo to GM's TBI.....and also volume requirements and with load variation fuel requirements.
I think as Bill usn-1 stated to you was.....well, it was well put.

So because I was asking if anyone else runs a similiar pump
I was in the wrong? I'm just looking for info here, I thought that was what this message board was for. Obviously, I do not have a great knowledge of TBI and I am trying to learn from others. I guess I need to move to the newbie section, so I don't get flamed

That may be a good thing to do.
While your there, you may want to work on your questioning technique.
What you think is not what you write.
If you want a direct answer then ask a direct question.
