: to top heavy
Ratbasturd 07-31-2002, 12:24 PM I thought I had my truck set up ok, but it wants to lay over on what I think it should walk right over.
What I am thinking of doing to fix this is go to lower springs but longer and cut the hell out anything in the way and put Rancho 9000s up front
87 Toy, SAS with a 5" skyjacker lift for an 85 toy on it now.
Skyjacker softride shocks up front, Rancho 9000s rear
Am I thinking right on the solution? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chrisf 07-31-2002, 12:33 PM suspension is way too stiff... stock lifts suck for any type of articulation... try removing some leafs and adding some thinner more softer ones... when you don't have any flex in your suspention, it takes very little to roll over the truck. also on the other hand too soft is bad too:bounce2: :bounce2: :bounce2:
0ILBURNER 07-31-2002, 12:34 PM Practice ;)
you just need more flex to keep your tires on teh ground
MattS 07-31-2002, 12:46 PM My truck had skyjacker junk on it when I bought it. They were very thick stiff packs=no flex. Plus you could do a little trimming and go alot lower lift.
Tankota 07-31-2002, 01:06 PM Go wider (i.e. D44 or spacers) and get some softer more flexy springs (waggies chevys etc). These springs will probably make you lower but that is remedied with sawzall (or body lift).
Nice looking truck BTW.
cexodusk 07-31-2002, 01:09 PM why dont you put chevies, mazda's, AP or something like that in the rear?
Bad Karma 07-31-2002, 02:40 PM Learn to wheel with the Skyjackers and then when your main leaves break, put some good springs in there. You'll be glad you did. :D
froadin4rnr 07-31-2002, 04:16 PM i'd go ahead and remove a leaf and then do some trimmin. you have to be able to fit your 35's with that 2 inch body lift still on there. you know anyone in the area wanting to sell some 35's?? if so shoot me a line. i still need to come out and go for a trail ride with you guys sometime.
Ratbasturd 08-01-2002, 12:09 PM Another question, would the chevy spring set up solve this or help?
I am not sure what direction I am going from this point with the truck. It is a DD at this time but if I can get a tow rig it will be trail only rig.
Thanks

Dude! Here's your problem! You got this big fawker pushing on the back of your truck! I'd ask him to stop it, but I'd ask him very nicely! :p Or you could just have him tuck your truck under one arm and carry it over the tippy parts... Damn, that's a burly human!

I have skyjacker on my 84, I am looking to get some waggy springs. I have them on my 98 SFA TAcoma, and they do really well offroad. They are really flexy. Thats what I would look in to
