Looking for pics and advice from 4.0L TJ guys running full hydro. Where have you put your resevoir? Getting the res in a position to gravity feed my pump is proving difficult (particularly on hill climb positions). I'm thinking about putting it where the radiator reservoir is and just run a smaller catchcan for radiator.

That is what I did with mine. I bought a summit racing radiator bottle and put it on the other side.

i'm actually running the stock reservoir on the stock pump, i just run a larger finned cooler for extra capacity. been like that for over a year, and have yet to have any problems with it.

I ran mine that way (w/ a cheapo Summit cooler) for 6 months w/ no problems.
Since the pump & resevoir were part of the kit from PSC, if figured I'd go ahead & put it on. I'm saving the stock pump for a backup.
In all honesty, the stock pump & resevoir is probably adequate.

Granted I dont have the 4.0 anymore but this is the same way i had it just on the other side when the 4.0 was in.

thanks guys. I ended up putting the res pretty much where SLIPKOTJ put his. Seemed the easiest place and it kept my lines really short (my orbital is in the stock steering box location and the cooler is in the grill). Everything worked tonight at least, hoping to test it out this weekend.

orbital is off a combine, paid $50 bucks for it, not sure of its size, ram is a 2x8" tractor supply. i'm a cheap bastard. i have like $150 in my whole setup, a buddy made all my lines for me, got the cooler cheap off of ebay, after seeing quite a few other people on here run em.

put the psc pump on and get back to me. I used to think the same thing, then burned up 2 stockers and bought a psc pump. Its a night and day difference

I am still running the stock pump and res after 8 months. Maybe I am lucky?

As I said, I have installed the PSC pump & reservoir.
Finally did a shake down run last weekend.
I really cannot tell a difference in performance between the stock pump & the PSC unit. Ran the thing for 4 1/2 hours or so. Temps in the low 80's. Moderate wheeling.
The resevoir is vented & it was blowing fluid. I suppose I overfilled it.
What huge difference did you notice?

Did you replace just the pump or the gearbox as well - with both it turns with no effort at all.

I bought a SFW bracket, mounted a obital from POS, Tractor supply ram with a local shop making the hoses. You can turn the 40x13.50's with just your pinky finger on the steering wheel.
