The info I/we need is requested by my local area Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce.

They said they most certainly will help us in this effort as well as their Business Advocacy Task Force.
They know we have lots of concerned businesses locally that will to do as much as possible to help. They also realize a potential loss if we loose any of our needed JV OHV area. They are serious when they say they will help. But we need to help them gather this needed info.

I also drafted a local business survey form to be dispersed amongst our local businesses as per their request. It will be mailed and emailed to all related local businesses.

They said they have a very close and excellent working relationship with the 29 Palms Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.

They requested this crucial info:

What events take place in the JV OHV areas?

Websites to these events are very encouraged.

They also need past as well as future event calendar info to validate the legitimate uses of the OHV areas.

It wouldn't hurt to show approximate numbers of people that partake in these events.

Please post links if at all possible.

Thanks,
Steve Parker

Also, does anyone have readily available any info concerning special use permits that has been issued from the BLM documenting events that have occurred?

If not, I will attempt to acquire such info form the BLM when time permits.

Thanks,
sp

Since I am not a paid Pirate Member I am not allowed to post events that require paid registration. I started to post it up, but then read the rules.

The Victor Valley 4 Wheelers host an event called Fun In The Desert in Johnson Valley every year the end of September or beginning of October. We are hosting our 17th event this year September 26th - 28th. We usually have between 90-125 paid registrants at each event, but even more show up.

The dates for the prior events that I have record of are:
September 28-30, 2007
September 29-October 1, 2006
October 7-9, 2005
October 8-10, 2004
October 10-12, 2003
October 11-13, 2002
October 5-7, 2001

The link to our website, which has a little write on building the Hammers is:

The link for the FITD event is:

Hope this helps!!

Hey there...

Each winter, NAXJA So*Cal chapter and Goatman (KOH 7th place this year) put on an event called the Rockin XJ Jamboree...

Here is the thread about the current one:
http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?p=244022906#post244022906

Ive been to this the past two years, and know that it has happened at least 2 years before that...

We traditionally hold a raffle and a dinner, and the proceeds in the past have gone to FOPV.

Attendance the past two years has had at least 65 station wagons and associated passengers, tow rigs, and people just riding shotgun...

The event is marketed as a XJ cherokee event, but we are more than willing to wheel with whomever is interested in wheeling with us...
