I have a softop sammi, but now need a tintop, is it possible to put a tintop body on a softop frame? My luck I will buy a tintop body and there will be some thing different about the two.

a little backstory to explain: I purchased a soft top under the knowledge that my wife would not go back to work for approx 4 years. I built a full cage, and can no longer put the top back on, and didnt think it would be a problem because we have a 01 chevy truck we run errands and around town, my wife would be home, no problems...well now she takes the truck to work from 4pm till midnite, so if I want to run around town I am screwed. I dont mind driving the sammi in the snow/rain with the bikini top and door on, but cant put my kids through that (4 and 1)...so what am I to do? no money for another car, and my sammi has a relativily built drivetrain (6.5 gears, locked rear, zor crabs, missing link shackles with cj springs, bilstein 5100 shocks, t-case skid etc.

cheaper and easier to build a custom soft top? Im getting one built for my lwb project (since there is no aftermarktet support) and its not really that much $$$

yeah thats probably true, but I was going to trade my winch to my friend who has two parts tintops...

There shouldn't be any difference between the two as far as trading bodies. Sounds like a lot of trouble though, maybe it would be easier to modify the cage and put the soft top back on? Even if you had to start over and build a new cage it may be less effort and money to go that route. Just a thought.

It might be easier to just swap everything to the tin top than try to swap the body. Thats what i did. I took evrything off he tin top and put it on the soft top

keep your rig the way it is and get one of the two tintops running for a dd?

Unless it's an exo it cant be that hard to modify the cage

It is possible. No noticeable differences that we saw. I wanted a tintop for inclimate weather and I always liked the looks! I got this tintop for $100 and figured the rust would just be cut out when I comp cut it but the rust was alot worse then it looked, hence the name "Lockjaw"! Here are a few pix of the body swap that we are doing right now:
