: Do spring rates really show how stiff/soft springs are?

? from looking at the formula it doesn't seem so.

Well yes and no. Spring rate is figured in what it take to get the spring to move the first 1". So some springs have a more progressive rate to them where others do not.

I'm in a pickele because there are 2 springs I'm looking at. Waggy lift springs from BDS and Rusty's. BDS is 450 lbs/in and Rusty's are 310 lbs/in but someone said that the BDS ones aren't too stiff. Should I get a pair of each and see what happens? I wish someone would have put them on a YJ already. I think the added wheelbase and bolt on almost 6" lift is a great idea. yes no?

So it sounds like you need to post the question "who has used Rusty or BDS waggy springs"? I seems as though most people are happy with their BDS springs.
