just curious, i have a rc10 monster gt i got when they first came out, but got sick of hobby shop trips to fix all the broken shit. i would like to convert it to electric with low gears if at all possible. it obviously would not be a badass rock crawler, but something fun for camp or the backyard. and i'm not willing to spend $600 or on today's rc crawler, even though they do kick ass.

It's plenty possible, just going to take some fab work on your part and of course the cash for a big enough motor system to pull that thing around.

Check out www.rc-monster.com and the forum they have there. It's the biggest nitro to electric conversion site on the net. ;)
Oh yeah, the Mamba Monster Max on 4-6 Lipo cells would make that thing SCOOT!

holmeshobbies.com carries a full line of electronics for the switch (and the guy knows his stuff!!!) You'll want a fiego motor most likely and a mamba monster max esc. Hobbycity.com is also a really good resource for parts. As for batteries your prolly looking at spending a small fortune as you'll prolly want 4s lipo in the 5000mah range (spend the money and go 8000mah). You'll need a motor plate, Novak makes several conversion and they run around $80 or you could find someone with a mill and some time and just make it yourself as its really not that hard.
