Okay, I got a Free Jeep YJ (the one that I had mentioned before), I have no title and no bill of sale, but I ran carfax, it's not stolen or anything of the sort, just a Jeep without title and no bill of sale. Anyone know how I would go about doing this? Bonded title I figure. Jeep doesn't run though, engine is in fact BLOWN, along with the 5 speed, and rear diff.

Also, I'm in Arizona.

You should be able to apply for a lost title..best thing to do is contact your DMV and find out exactly what your going to need.

write up a bill of sale, forge a signature...
take the VIN plate with you as proof and they should be able to look it up and put it in y our name.

yeah got given, better than been given.:flipoff2:

Yeah I guess I could do that, the guy gave it to me because he was moving, the Jeep has 3 flats and a blown drivetrain so he didn't want it. I got his name, but have no idea where he moved. I'll try and find him and see what I can do, maybe send him a bill of sale to sign or something, all I know is he moved out of state.

Still leaning towards a bonded title, anyone know what requires for a bonded title?

Who ever gave it to you can write up a bill of sale. Even if it was a gift. Take that with the VIN to DMV and start the proccess.

make friends with someone at a towing company have them impound it and submit the paperwork in fl the business owner has to send a certified letter to the owner which is verified by the police running the vin then after i think 90 days with no response or payment the state will issue a new title .. thats basically how its done here but good luck in cali just be sure not to get screwed

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. Well, I think I might just put the Jeep in the trailer and roll it down to the DMV. What about if I call it abandoned?

thats how we get titles for abandoned vehicles just ask the dmv say it was left on your property it may take a while but you should be able to get a title

ik in ct if you have a vehicle thats missing even some paper work they put it into the system as stolen and alow up to 60 days (i think) for some one to clame it who has the paperwork for it. i almost had to do it for a truck i bought,
heres an idea, iff you can locate another previous owner before the guy that gave it to you , have them right a bill of sale to you, this would make it so that the guy that gave it to you is no longer in the picture and you now have a legit bill of sale allowing you to apply for a new title, thats what i wound up doing for my truck.

Except I don't know how to find the last owners, nor really have all that much time to try and search a lot. All I got is the last guys name. How about avoiding all that, and go directly with something like it was left on my property?

IS there any way for the DMV to find out? If I just say it's abandoned and apply for a bonded title, woukd that work?

Also thanks for the help guys.

find a jeep someone recently rolled over or totaled. buy it for pennies. register it then take the vin and title rivet onto your jeep weld over the old vin number on frame grind down stamp new one in.

put license plate on your jeep have a great time or you can go about it the harder way.

Yeah I thought about that.... Well I'll try doing it the "Okay" way, probably go to an attorney so I don't got to deal with the government BS. See what he can do, better not cost me much, otherwise it kind of takes the "Free" out of "Free Jeep.":shaking:
