: where to find driveshafts

I'm building up an 87 w/SAS and Marlin Dual Case. Also shortened the frame up 12". Thought no problem lengthing front shaft and shortening rear. I've read in some searches here that 8" splines are what I want (4 1/2" lift, allpro), but the local driveshaft shop said no dice when I mentioned lengthened splines. I'm getting the Toy to the point that it's almost ready to drive, to get muffler work, alignment, etc. done, but I'm not going far without driveshafts.
Any suggestions for reasonable prices and timely delivery on shafts? I'm in Salinas CA.
Also not sure, but it looks like I really need a CV in the rear. Shaft length from flange to flange is only 36" unloaded and it looks like I'd like another 2" of compression. Old shaft seems to be about 57". New perches should take up some of the angle, but it still looks nasty to me.
Appreciate any help.

Well if you're in Salinas why don't you just go Pacific truck parts? I just got my front lengthened for $80. They don't do longer splines though. And the guy who does them is kind of an A-hole. Before this time he only charged me $55. If you want the super long slip I would go for HIGH angle driveline.

After reading your post more thoroughly you probably already took it to Pacific. Sounds like the guy "NO dice"!!

I would suggest you steer clear of that High Angle guy - Jess...

He will probably sell you top quality shaft and then have the nerve to charge some rediculously reasonable price for it... Then on top of that, the guy will completely screw up and ship it out in a timely manner.

Now I gotta ask - is that the kind of service and product you are looking for? If so, don't say I didn't warn you ;)

I'm sure there are many good shops out there, but Jess took the trouble to spend the time with me on the phone going over my needs and the price is right. I'm going with Hi Angle on both of them.
