So I was on craigslist this weekend and found some guy selling a prerunner for $1000-for parts it says. I call him go take a look and its an ext cab with TRD package and v6-I go home to think about the negatives--which are

1)No title for vehicle-he says state has a lien on it and can't be obtained-if anyone knows anything about a way around let me know-I'm in AZ

2)car wont start-he says bad tranny-sounded like bad starter to me-turns out the flexplate is broken(auto trans)

3)almost 240k

Just wondering if any of you guys have seen a broken flexplate on any of your rigs and if so if it just a high mileage thing or something else(locked up trans?)

I am really hoping to get a title for this pos and SAS it-otherwise get a totaled toy and swap everything over so I can get a title-or swap all to my 85 frame(sure would be nice to have A/C)

Broken flex plates aren't uncommon for 3.4's. Dunno why. Just replace it and go another 100-200k...

I would do a little DMV home work before you sink any money into that thing,

I sent you the PM on the flex plate before I read this, check with DMV first.

I have a bunch of those flex plates.
