so i just got an '08unlimited rubi . swaped out the tires/ wheels for a set of 18x8 moto's on 35" km2's with the factory tpms valve stems. the valve stems were not from my jeep but from an 07 with the tpms....i really though all would be good but it's not:shaking: i get the dang low tire alarm. does it need reprogrammed to the new valves? can i do it or should i take it to a dealer... can i disable it alltogether? as big as they are i don't think they will hold up offroad very long:(

Your computer is looking for the valve stems that came with it. You have to take out the new ones, write down the code found on them, and get the dealership to reprogram your jeep. Where are your valve stems? Just put those in the new wheels.... oh wait, you swapped them..... Yup, you need to take it to JEEP with the long numerical code off the sensor housing and have it reprogrammed.:D

So now its even more expensive to mod the modern Auto:shaking:

He shouldn't have to do this. I got a second set of sensors for a second set of wheels and they work with no issues.
What I think the OP's issue revolves about is that the 07 JK did not come with TPMS. Whomever told him that the 07 sensors would work is talking a load of bull as there are no 07 sensors (AFAIK ;)).
Now if there were 07 TPMS sensors maybe they're not talking to the 08 JK... I donno. Its also possible that your tire pressure is just too low. I find that anything below about 33psi causes the sensors to complain. Good Luck!

Take it to your dealer and have them reset your computer and recalibrate it to each sensor.
We do this at work every day and takes about 5 minutes to do. Each vehicle is different but we have a TPMS wand for all of them.
IMO TPMS is a joke, when you air down the light will come anyway. If it were me I'd dig into my dash to remove the light. You don't need them.
