Hey got a buudy with a Tracker with a 1.6 8 valve motor that is blown and I've found him a good 16 valve 1.6 to drop in it. Will it swap in and bolt up to the auto or not and what about the wiring mess or could you take the 8 valve head and use the good 16 valve bottom end? Post up, hell I should know, but I really don't fool with the 16 valve motor.

it will bolt to the tranny. wiring and head swaps should be in the FAQ.

I understand that the 8v head will bolt onto the 16v block but you will effectively have an interference engine. So to do right, you need the right pistons. I guess its doable as long as your timing belt never breaks and you get the valve timing right on the first try.

the heads will swap straight over with no dramas at all

i think the manifolds may just swap over as well but not 100% on this one
