Can you guys post pictures of your samurai's with Comp cut fenders? I'm thinking about doing comp cuts on both front and rear, but may tube out the front. How did you remake the fender well when you cut them out? Does anyone make fenders so you can comp cut them... like the flat fenders you can get for Heeps. Any info you have will be greatly appreciated.

It looks like you moved the rear axle towards the rear. Did you relocate the gas tank? I have also thought about building my inner fenders. I have a mig welder... so that wouldn't be to much of a problem. I'm wondering how big of a tire I can fit with the yj kit and comp cut fenders? It says you can fit 33's with yj's... do you think 35's will fit with comp cut? The reason I ask is my last Sammi had 35" tires on it. The front axle was extended 6" forward... and I don't know how much lift I had... but it was too much! It was kinda tippy... even when going straight down a hill! I'd like to fit 35's on a samurai... without lifting the vehicle a lot.

Thats some clean inner fender work. I really like that. And good job on the tailgate! I can't narrow mine due to the fact that I have 2 kids that ride with me. That also makes it so I can't move my fuel tank to where the rear seat is.

I moved the axle back about 4", then I made my own tank so the axle wouldn't come into contact with it. I am running 35's right now, but I think I could run 37's with no problem and I am running YJ's. Check out my build in my signature.

Where did you get the sheet metal for the gas tank? Did you bend it yourself or did you purchase it already bent? Thats a good build up thread... and I love the military style date! HOOAH.

There is a steel supply store down the street from me, I drew up what I wanted and figured out what I needed to have cut and had them do it. Total cost was about $50, it's a 10 gallon and it tucks up much nicer than the stock one.
I didn't notice before, but your not to far from me.

I noticed that as well. Could you possibly get contact info for the steel supply store? I think I'd like to get one of those tanks myself.

The place I got the steel from:
Metal Supermarkets- 405-616-3825
Long drive for you, I am sure there is something else closer to you. It is a lot of welding, but it didn't take me to long to make the tank, good luck.

EGzuki.... are you going to move your rear axle back? If so how do you plan on doing it... and how much (length extended)?

i do plan on extending the rear axle this winter. I plan on 4-linking the rear with fox shocks and extending anywhere from 9 to 12". Overall goal is to have a slight bit of tire extending past the rear bumper...also planning on 39 or 42" iroks in the build as well.
