I'd like to get a head count to know how much food to pack in for the BBQ on Friday night. Please email, PM, or just reply back on the POR board if you're planning on hitting the trail. Thanks much!

For newcomer(s).
We have parked our trailer before underneath Loon Lake. After crossing the dam, there is a gravel road that goes down the hill to a large staging area at the Rubicon trailhead. There are usually a few other rigs parked there too. A 32' trailer should be interesting.

Wed night the group will be camped at the lower Bassi Falls area. This is about 30 minutes up Icehouse Rd. (dependent on how fast you drive). Immediately after crossing the 3rd bridge on Icehouse, it is the first right hand turn. We'll try to have some signs out directing traffic into the area. Basically, keep turning right until you hit the river.

We'll also try to have CBs tuned to CH 4 in case someone rolls in after dark and needs assistance finding the group.

We'll plan on hitting the trail from Loon Lake about 10am. This should give stragglers a bit of daylight to catch up to the group, and last minute gas/ice purchases at the "resort".

Its on Icehouse rd, about 10 minutes before loon lake rd.


I think like 20 miles or so from Hwy 50.

Yea, just to re-enforce other people I would'nt want to try the hill(sharp turn left and down hill) to get down to the staging area:eek: Anybody have GPS for the bassie falls area?:D

i will be heading in on friday night, and will have few rigs with me. :D

I'm out...EFI still no worky, and I have to leave for Colorado tomorrow....I am BUMMED. I busted my ass trying to finish it.

I'll be at Loon Wednesday night and drivin' in Thursday morning.

Shane and Fatty, I'll be heading in to Spider on Wednesday morning with as many as 6 other Samurais joining me. We'll probably head back out to Loon on Thursday morning to meet up with the main group and roll back into camp with them, taking pictures along the way. What time were you planning to head in? Maybe we could meet up and cruise on in together. Once at Spider, we can all pull up a :beer:

I had heard that Bassi was closed, but also figured it was the top part of the trail into the Falls themselves, not the lower portion out by the highway.

Can someone confirm if the entire lower Bassi Falls area has been closed?

The entire bassi area is closed.....But i think you can camp across the road at the silver camp site?

I will be getting to loon between 8 and 9 on wednesday morning....

I'll be rolling in to Spider Lake Friday night, sometime between 7 p.m. and midnight.

It sounds like you'll be beating us by an hour or two then. :flipoff2:

just letting you guys know, there are goin to be a lot(20-25) broncos on the 'con the 8-11.

Not a problem on the Broncos. Hopefully we can catch some of them going thru Little Sluice. Jeep Jamboree also has something going on our same weekend every year. They tend to bypass the fun stuff. As long as their chopper doesn't drop anything on us, we hardly know they're there.

I will be coming in from the tahoe side wednesday or thursday with my 6yr old. If anybody else wants to come in this way let me know and we can meet up.

I'll be there eather thursday or friday. More then likely i'll have Roksamy with me (doesn't have his junk running yet).
