I'm looking at getting 93 chevy 6.5 deisel? The truck is a 5 speed. Would it be an nv-4500? I have not seen the truck but i'm just interested in the trans.

Any info asap would be great.

Yeah probably the 4500,Ive never saw a Getrag 5 speed behind a diesel.

Thats what I want to hear. But dodge did use the getrag behind first gen 12v.

I have a 92 C3500 6.5 with a NV4500, The 93 will also have a NV4500

Ya I know you were talking about chevy, I was just sayin that dodge used them and they also use NV 4500. So I thought chevy might has also.

Pop under and take a look it should have a 6 bolt PTO cover like this,

unless it has been replaced, you will have a nv4500 with a... 6.32:1 (i should b close but not positive on that number) first gear. in 94 they changed the 1st gear to around 4.5:1

No one's asked this newb if it's actually a one ton. If it's a "93 chevy 6.5 deisel" (I love people who can't spell), then what model is it?

If he's looking at a 1500 diesel, it's an NV3500. If it's a 2500 or 3500, then an NV4500 with the lower ratio first gear.

The 93 model chevy 1/2 came with both the NV4500 or the NV3500, and it was an option depending on which diesel engine was in the truck, either 6.2 or 6.5
