Me and my buddy put a 2.5 inch body lift, put the leafs over the axle, and torsion bar leveling keys and hes fitting 33"s with some extra clearance, made a huge difference in its capability. Should be able to do the same to your colorado

Don't they have the same suspension as the H3?

Wow, Is it just me or does that sound like a waste of a truck??......:shaking:

Why would you skimp and do that to a fairly new truck? Cause then you have the ugly look of a body lift and the bad handling and parts wear of cranked torsion bars.

I would say just buck up and do it right and buy a kit or if you have decent fab skills do a solid axle swap. It shouldn't cost you THAT much if you can do it all yourself.

Duct tape; Bailing wire, and JB weld should be all you need to lift it.

Ha sorry, forgot to point out that it was not a colorado we did it to, it was a 88 s10 blazer, Im just saying that the basic setup of a 88 s10 blazer is the same as the colorados, torsion bar suspension, leafs under axles. Also the body lift shows enough frame but not so much that it looks bad. Torsion bars doesnt change the handling much, rides stiffer but new longer shocks will fix that. It was just a suggestion anyway

well, looks like it is getting shackles in the rear and a torsion bar crank up front.

and yeah they do have the same susp. as the H3... but skyjacker kits are rediculous priced.

also - going spring over and then cranking the torion bars is suicide, you have the difference of the axletube and the leafs, so lifting the rear what 8" or so? try cranking that into the front t bars and see what happens...

it'd never work..

in any event.. we'll see

We didnt do shackles in the rear so it only gave maybe 3 inches of lift, and with maxed torsion bars it sits about 1-2 inches lower then the back
