edit: I went back and double checked the books. Apparently I was in a hurry or something and had missread the application charts. They both use the 1-0297 Neapco joints. woops..... :D

As long as the 44 stubs are later than 72. 71-72 and before were the smaller u-joint

The other thing I noticed is that the 10 bolt shafts have 2 c-clip grooves, and the D44 shafts have one.

doesnt matter. the 10b started useing a clip at the end of the spindle to help keep the dust seals tight to the spindle, wont affect the install in any way.

hey yall, i measured them tonight, the dana 44 stub is 10.5'' in. and the 10 bolt stub is 10.75'', does that .25'' even matter? do they use the same wheel bearings?

The stub shaft has absolutely nothing to do with the wheel bearings.

yes they interchange, I should know I broke about 8 of them... do yourself a favor, after you break two start looking for a 60.

yah i know there pretty weak. but cant afford a D60 right now.. the reason i was askin bout the shafts was i did a Ford dana 44 with chevy 6 lug from knuckle out, and didnt know if i had to change the stub' shafts. but ended up the ford stubs were .25'' short, so i had to put both chevy stub's on for there to be enough room for the c-clips to fit. but it all worked out in the end. thanks for the info everyone., ill get pics. up soon, its on a nice 98 Z71. with 12'' springs,
