I know I am a newbie and a Jeep owner, but I need to know what Fords came with the np435 with the 7.5 in. stickout on the front output instead of the more common 6.5in. Any help would be appreciated.

Just curious why you are looking for one of the odd balls?

My wild guess would be the 7.5 input shafts would come behind big blocks such as the 460, or maybe a deisel???? I really have no idea though.....

I have two of those 'oddball' trannies. They came behind the 352 in '65-'66 F-250 4x4(I had one of each). They hanged off of the bell housing with no mount for the tail shaft. It is a short shaft fixed yoke output. these trucks had two mounts on the bellhousing and one on the timing cover.

And yeah, why are you looking for one of these Gems? :flipoff2:

Hey Alpo, do you have any pictures of that tranny? I'd like to have them for future reference....especially with some measurements!

I need one because i can get an adapter from advance to put that tranny behind my 4banger jeep motor. It is just a spacer so the extra in. is why the length is needed.

Doesn't a SM465 bolt up to your existing bellhousing?

No the SM465 uses bearing index instead of dowel pins on the bellhousing.I actually have an sm 465 in the building but it requires a v6 s10 bellhousing and part of the clutch and slave cylinder setup. Then the crank position sensor has to be put on the new bellhousing. With the 435 all I have to do is change the clutch disc, and bolt the spacer in and it is done.A guy that works for a tranny place told me he thought that the 83 and newer np435 had the longer stickout, anybody know?
