I just got some axles, the rear being a ford 8.8 and I'm curious about the shaft and flanges and shit I should use.
I will have a sye on my t-case so that obviously takes a cv style yoke.
The ford 8.8 has a pinion flange instead of the yoke. Now I know that you can buy spicer part number what ever to convert it to pinion yoke.

I'm wondering if I can get a shaft that has the yoke on one end for my sye and the flange on the other for the 8.8?.
Could that combination work? or should I just get the adapter?
Also, I'm thinkin about using an xj front shaft. Will that last?

Sorry for these dumb questions, but I'm just curious.
Yes, I did search but didn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks.

XJ front shaft will have to be shortened, and probably won't last long if you beat on it. Me personally, I would buy the yoke for the 8.8 and run a standard shaft from JE Reel or Tom Woods.

Thanks. That's what I figured.
Anyone else? Could it work with a flange and a yoke?

the flange adapter is only $19.80 at www.alljeep.com. I bought mine there and it works fine - why are you against running it?

Yep, I just found that website. Thanks
I'm not against running it, I'm just curious if it would work without it.

Tom Woods:smokin:

If you call them up, or one of their dealers, you tell them exactly what you want and what lenghth, and they ship it to yoru door.

I personally have front and rear Tom Woods, the extended versions with grinded CV's, and it came with the spicer flange.

Yea, I think I'll end up with one of his shafts. Everything I hear about them is outstanding.
Is that grinded CV the high 40 degree angle one? If so, that shit looks nice.
Thanks

This is exactly what I did.
