I ran that setup for a little while, not the best but better than blocks.

My buddy just cut the bottom out of his stock hanger, and then we plated it back over the top.
Somewhere in my k5 thread is pics of mine, it's adjustable and built out of scrap plate.

Here is one that I built for a customers truck a few weeks ago. Yes it is very large... but the truck will have 8" chevy springs up front. that along with the sas will push the truck to around 13" of lift. So to keep from using overly arched springs I opted to build this drop bracket and move the front leaf mount down 2" and back 3", It will also get a 1.25" lift shackle.

Here is the set I made. Everything was found in the metal salvage yard or in the rem pile at the steel yard. .30/lb for the metal.
1/4" plate that had an angle formed on one edge. I used most of the plate on other projects but the angle was the right size for the piece against the frame and I butt welded two pieces together to make the channel where the shackle mounts.
2x2-.25 tube to connect the two pieces
3/16" plate to brace.
I didn't run a brace on the bottom, I don't think it's needed. If I ever have problems then I'll add it on the next set.
Anyways, just the metal used probably cost under $10.

Saw this picture on here a while back and saved it. I can't remember who posted it but its a good picture of how people do the shackle flip using another set of the front mounts.

Thanks

It would seem to me that you're the one attention whoring...:shaking: It's his picture of his truck, dumbass. He has a photo of the a rig that he obviously did the low budget shackle flip on. I'd give him some credit because he can answer questions about it.

Hey Waller...dumb question, but where did you get them from? From a junker isn't really an option due to rust and the pain in the ass of getting them off in the yard without a smoke wrench. Is there an outside vendor that I just haven't found or a part number I could take to the dealer? They don't like going by application, even with the last 8 of a VIN...

He's still an attention whore. Look at all his post ME!!! ME!!! ME!!! You dumbass, shut up, get out.

There all the same, no valuable shared info.

If you are working on a 73-87 chevy, you can use the stock mounts... i dont know if LMC would carry them.

I took mine off a junk frame in the wrecking yard, but you know how it is here.. shit doesnt rust. at least, not like you guys have to deal with. Mine still had the factory paint on em. Even after Tyler put them on his truck when I lowered mine back to stock, they look like new.

there are 3 different heights of front mount for the rear spring, so there can be differing amounts of lift afforded to the different mount.

as for being an attention whore.... Im still waiting for grumpyyoungfart to provide ONE bit of technical knowhow to this forum. Until then, he can kiss my ass.

I hereby nominate grumpyoungfart for the banstick. 8 posts of bitching and whining. No question where this poster is going...

EDIT: I made mine out of 5/16 plate. Here's a bad pic where you can see them at the top of the photo.

I don't suppose you have applications or at least measurements on the height of the different mounts, do you? I can measure just fine, but I would want to know if I'm dealing with the tall one, short one, etc. I'm trying to get the shit together for an SAS on that '92 Chevy. The kid that's doing it is a good guy and knows his shit, but the details elude him. I have the Toyota stuff down pretty good, but all this SAE fastener GM shit throws me for a loop.

I dont think its about foul language. I think its a simple disrespect to harrass another member of the board without providing ANY posts AT ALL regarding ANY technical information, with the intent to disrupt a thread and irritate someone by a lowly mockery.

I am pretty sure you directed it at me, by using a similar name, and though its not really an issue..... I think imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Sadly, you have not yet answered a question for anyone on here. If you want to hound me, just be happy hounding me. they make it possible to ignore other members for a reason, you know.

I guess you dont have any questions that need answering? no problems you cant solve? no tech to provide? no humorous diatribe that might lighten the evening? Sadly, I have yet to see any of those things. You might try it.

Pardon my intrusion into the thread about shackle flips.. /hijack

Lemme go measure my 2wd shortbed stuff... 1 inch from bottom of frame to center bolt of spring below the frame.

4x4 half ton-3/4ton long bed, 4 1/2 inches from bottom of frame to center bolt of spring below the frame.

theres one more, but i dont have it handy.

Sorry for the blurry pics, here are the ones I had on my truck.

Seemed to work pretty good, and only took a couple of hours to make.

mmmmmm....revolver shackles....:D

And as for Grumpyyoungfart, he, my friends, is a prime example of why some loads should be swallowed.

The reason that lions eat some of their cubs

The reason that trash always either ends up in the gutter, the dumpster or the landfill

The reason that abortion was invented

I could go on and on.

Just suffice it to say that Paul Gagnon needs a standing ovation for putting the :rainbow:troll on the band wagon.:beer::usa:

If you are talking about mine, yes they do!! But the truck never really was on the road for more than a couple of miles.

But they worked good offroad.
