You do know my bus is a Ford, right?

I actually don't have the WVO system hooked up right now. I took the tank out to maximize space when 10 of us were in there going to the cities and bypassed the heat exchanger to maximize the heater output. The sad reality of it is that quality oil is getting harder to find and people want to charge for it now.

More tech...the 205 thread got locked down before I could post, but in a driving test we found that the VSS 205 worked perfect in the newer truck. He didn't have any lock up or other electronics in the tranny that relied on it since it has an SM465 in front of it (that also has the correct later model reverse light connection). He does, however, have cruise and it worked correctly afterwards.

Oh yeah...and the 4wd light switch on the 205 worked with the stock setup after a little work to bypass the wiring for the front actuator.

This is a semantic point and slightly thread hijacking but Jack Daniels is NOT bourbon. Jack Daniels was founded before the Bourbon Acts in the late 1800s. Jack Daniels does not meet the standards to be a bourbon but they do get to claim that they are one because they are grandfathered in. Jack Daniels is a Tennessee Whiskey, not a bourbon which comes from Kentucky. Apparently something is different in the distilling processes and the water used.

just to clarify.

Bourban is 51% corn(or more)
must be 80 poof or better
must be aged in charred oak barrels

these are the legal requirements to be called bourbon. So yes, technically JD is Bourbon. The name came from kentucky, but the process is what makes it bourbon.:flipoff2:

Happy B Grumpy! Better late than never! Shit your just a friggin kid. My wifey is older than you. Me 5/3/1952, she 3/8/1965. Our oldest kid is 23.

I don't give a shit if JD is whiskey or bourbon, if you drink to much of it you feel like a bucket of smashed assholes the next day...especially at my age!

I've pretty much given up the brown liquors for good...unless it is in a Long Island! Trying to be a role model for my young adult kids! Although the boy and I did do an all-nighter when he got home from Iraq. I paid for it too.

Think good thoughts about all that passed on 9/11/01. Except the terrorists.

I went to a bachelor party last year. i took a bottle of crown royal, only thing I had at the time. Stopped to pick up one of the minions, and his dad gave me another bottle to take with. only had 2 liters of coke to mix with 2 bottles of crown. made 3 drinks. nobody shared it with me, the fuckers only wanted to drink beer outta the keg. I got a little drunk. woke up at 5 am in the back of a toyota. not the best night.

Think good thoughts about all that passed on 9/11/01. Except the terrorists.

Agreed. To those souls go my best wishes. To the perpetrators, my anger. I hope our boys over there *(OIF/OEF) are doing good for the world, and I hold them in my thoughts.

Yep most of them just drink Coors light! But they stay up all night! Then sleep all the next day. WTF!
I keep sayin to my son "Joseph if ya drank real beer you'd be passed out and in bed by a reasonable hour."
Not too sure about these kids today, their adolescence seems to last forever. We as parents must have made it too easy on em. Try to give them a better life and stuff. In retrospect the more responsibility they take for themselves as early as possible would probably be a better gig.
My daughter the 20 year old college one wants to go skydiving.
I told her this morning "after paying all I pay for you to be in college you want to skydive? Ok heres the deal, you injure yourself doing that shit and the family support of your education stops...your on your own. Apartment, tuition, food , gas and insurance." She can't afford that so she had a sudden change of heart. Kids, they seem to not grasp personal responsibility to well and the sad thing is, we did not raise them this way. They learn this stuff from the rest of the crowd and I understand it is pervasive today. None of these little shits wants to grow up! Parents all round are complaining of the same stuff.

I wish the fix was as easy as the diagnosis!

You know, I agree. I dont have any of my own children, so I cant say that it would be easy. soon, though, I might be lucky enough to enjoy children... I usually get adopted by 15-18 year olds that are looking for guidance, and I have been lucky enough that these kids will follow the right path and gain some integrity and a work ethic. Not all of them succeed, either. I gotta try, though. I also hope that they all gain something from the experience.

Perhaps my biggest excitement came when one of these adopted children *(or minions, as my exwife used to call them) gave me a fathers day card. Best present I have ever recieved, though being recognized by my peers on here is also a cool thing. Still, its not even close to that simple card. If you have kids, and they love ya, be happy. Its worth it.

just4cuz
09-13-2008, 10:14 AM
Well your message I am sure supports what their parents are saying usually.

It is funny how kids will take advice from other adults and not their folks, even if the message is the same! Must be the delivery or just they have no reason to rebel against someone who is not their parent.
I tease Joe all the time that when you turn 18 we should trade you off to another adult so you will listen to them. They just go through a stage where they are rebels without a clue, or cause, and it lasts too damn long.

Don't get me wrong my kids are not afraid of hard work, getting dirty or doing things. My son is a decorated veteran of the Iraq war and my daughter is a student athlete on a college scholarship. Its just the occasional tune up that is required to snap them back into line that gets under my skin. They should be old enough to know better.

In closing I commend you for your participation in any young persons life that makes them a better person. My wife says to some of her friends that have married into families "You don't have to give birth to be a Mother". It goes for men too, you can be a father to any kid who will take you. Kudos on the Fathers Day card!

so umm Happy Birthday.

and question

first background,
i've been doing some thinking about getting more power out of my 366td in my suburban. i currently have a 5.7 tbi on it, with and adapter plate. an o2 sensor in the driverside exhaust. i live at 5600 ft elevation so the air is a little thinner up here.

-i believe it will help to put the o2 sensor after the y pipe joins on the exhaust so the computer is actually reading all the carbon. i plan on fixing that.

-the question i have is with the air being thin would a single plane manifold and 454tbi help my motor make more power or am wasting money and time on that idea. i was thinking the extra flow would help compensate for the thin air and maybe allow it to breathe better. or does the standard dual plane flows better for mild motors thinking still apply here. your feed back is appreciated.

use the dual plane at altitude..
you will need it.

if it was a dry system, i would suggest the single plane for a mild engine.

since it is TBI, it is wet, so it needs to be a dual plane.
